January 2003 Newsletter

This is a Newsletter that should have gone out last September but got left on the back burner owing to our being hit with too much other work. We have, however, now largely completed work on a long overdue project, a web site.  That's right, you can now access a New England Rail Pullman Parts catalog on line at either www.newenglandrail.com or www.pullmancars.com. Either address will direct you to the right place.

Please note all the features this on line reference provides for you. By clicking on any part that is underlined you can bring up a photo of the part to show you exactly what it is. This feature will be available for all items in the #200 series just as quickly as we can address things.
Some of the conversion kits in the #300 will have a similar feature which will display a copy of one side of the instruction sheet for the car in question to show just how comprehensive these sheets are.

Additionally, if you go to the "Help" section you can click on most of the books referenced and be brought to a source from which they can be purchased if you wish to do so.

The web site will remain a "work in progress", so if you have some thoughts about it that you would like to share you can go to the contact link and do so. Please, however, realize that this is a part time operation. Thus, unless something requires immediate attention, it is unlikely that you will receive an immediate response no matter how highly we value your input.

New Car Conversion Kits

We have not introduced the number of car conversion kits we had hoped to over the past year owing to difficulties with a constant turnover of employees with the supplier of our labeling stamps that has resulted in a terrible inconsistency in their quality. The supplier is making an effort now to address this problem. If they cannot do so we will have to take the time to find another supplier as this has gone on too long. The only #320 kits that have gone out of here have been with hand lettered header cards owing to the problem and the #321 Plan 4179 6 Sec.-RM - 4 Dbl. BR kits have been held off because of it. Once the issue has been cleared there are two or three other conversion kits that should appear in short order as well.
